The method of determining the presence of natural fractures filled with hydrocarbons with sufficient lateral distribution in the well, in which excitation is performed by hydraulic fracturing. After perforation of the interval, a fluid is injected into the well and data of the pressure response curve are collected. The fluid is injected at a rate that is lower than the rate of discharge during the intended fracturing operation, and the frequency of data collection is higher than the frequency of data collection of the proposed fracturing operation. The response curve of the pressure determines the characteristic elements, the value and combination of which indicate the presence or absence of natural cracks filled with hydrocarbons with sufficient lateral distribution in the interval.
