METHOD OF TREATING AND/OR PREVENTING GRAFT VERSUS HOST DISEASE IN A PATIENT UNDERGOING HEMATOPOIETIC STEM CELL TRANSPLANTATION
The present invention relates to a method of treating and/or preventing graft versus host disease (GVHD) in a patient undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), which method comprises: (i) administering to the patient an effective amount of a compound; (ii) conditioning said patient thereby destroying substantially the bone marrow and the immune system; and (iii) transplanting hematopoietic stem cells from a donor to said patient; wherein said compound is a compound of formula (II); ;of formula (IIa); ;of formula (IIb); ;or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and wherein conditioning is carried out by administering to said patient and effective amount of a chemotherapeutic agent and/or by treating said patient with a high-dose chemoradiation therapy.
