The present invention discloses a ‘paper-and-pencil’ based diagnostic kit for ready detection of one or multiple analyte simultaneously. Said diagnostic kit comprises a ‘paper-and-pencil’ based platform having a source of a test sample fluid and operatively communicating fluid channels to one or more analytes test regions for the detection of the analyte of interest. The fluid channel on the matrix is adapted for directing the test sample fluid from the source to the said analyte test regions for diagnostic purposes. Selective electric field has been applied for rapid and controllable fluid flow, while the electrodes are fabricated by sketching the graphite tip of a pencil on paper surfaces. External electric field is applied between sample source and test regions for enhancing the flow rate of the sample fluids to the test regions for said diagnostic purposes.
