VARIABLE OCEAN WAVES APPLICATION OSCILLATING WATER COLUMN WAVE ENERGY CONVERTOR

摘要

This wave energy converter intends to optimise the design and utility of the air turbine and the oscillating water column device. The factors that support this statement are, the provision in the design of this water column that captures the incident wave at variable stages; particularly in shallow waters, where the rise and fall of the wave swells according to the reining tide actually matters in the energy conversion and power generation undertaken by the air turbine, and, the design of the variably opening inlet and outlet vanes of the air turbine whose opening is dependent on the damping ratio of the incident air, optimising the power efficiency of the wells turbine. The wells turbine in this invention is directly mounted on the rotor wheel of the alternator, and is kinematically self balanced.
