ABSTRACTNOVEL Mn/Ti LAYERED DOUBLE HYDROXIDE FOR HIGHLY EFFICIENT VISIBLE LIGHT PHOTOCATALYSIS OF AQUEOUS AZO DYES: A METHOD FOR LDH SYNTHESIS, PHOTOCATALYSIS AND A DEVICE FOR VISIBLE LIGHT PHOTOCATALYSISNovel 3:1 Mn/Ti layered double hydroxide (LDH) for its application in visible light assisted photocatalysis to decolorize and degrade cationic and anionic azo dyes; the LDH is comprised of CO32- ions and H2O molecules in its interlayers and the said LDH has Mn:Ti ratio substantially equal to 3:1. A method for LDH synthesis and a method for visible light photocatalysis, performed on a specially designed photocatalytic device, applying the same are also disclosed.
