METHOD FOR DETERMINATION OF SPERM DNA INTEGRITY USING A FLOW CYTOMETRIC ASSAY

A method for the determination of DNA fragmentation index (%DFI) of sperms in semen samples has been described. The method will determine percentage of sperms with low levels of DNA fragmentation in a given population of sperms present in a semen sample. Sperm with good DNA integrity (low level of fragmentation) can be used to improve fertility and success rates of assisted reproductive procedures, such as intra-uterine insemination, in vitro fertilization, intracytoplasmic sperm injection, and other related techniques.
