TITLE: ORGANIC TEMPLATE FREE SYNTHESIS OF HIERARCHICAL NANO M-ZSM-5 ZEOLITES AND PRODUCTS THEREOF APPLICANT: CATALYSIS AND NANOMATERIALS RESEARCH LABORATORY, LOYOLA COLLEGE ABSTRACT The present invention relates to an environmentally benign, cost effective, simple and rapid hydrothermal process for preparation of hierarchical ultrapure nano M-loaded ZSM-5 catalysts. The process involves dissolving aluminium foil and NaOH in deionised water to obtain a solution A and dissolving silica source (RHA, RHuA and RSA) in deionised water to obtain a solution B. The solutions A and B were mixed to form aluminosilicate gel. The formed gel was transferred into autoclave for crystallization followed by cooling, filtering and washing until the pH has attained 7, to form a mixture. The formed mixture was dried overnight followed by calcination to form Na-form of ZSM-5 zeolite. The formed Na-ZSM-5 zeolite was subjected in to a continuous ion- exchange using aqueous NH4NO3 followed by filtering, washing, drying and calcination to remove residual water, ammonia and ammonium nitrate and to form H-form of nano ZSM-5 zeolite. Finally impregnating the formed H-form of ZSM-5 zeolite with aqueous metal nitrate solution followed by drying and there after calcined to form hierarchical ultrapure nano M-loaded ZSM-5 catalysts.
