ABSTRACT System for controlling appliances in an Internet of Things (IoT) environment and a method thereof Embodiments herein provide a system and a method for controlling one or more appliances in an Internet of Things (IoT) environment. Electroencephalogram (EEG) having two electrodes is fixed at predefined locations in scalp of a user. The at least two electrodes captures an eye blink activity data performed by a user in terms of signals. The eye blink activity data is then classified by a processor to detect a type of an eye blink activity from the activity data. The processor generates one or more commands based on the type of the eye blink activity so classified. The one or more commands are transmitted to the one or more appliances for controlling the one or more appliances through a transceiver. FIG. 2
