Motor vehicle driver's temporal eye opening degree parameterizing method for driver assistance system, involves calculating static characteristic values from parameters of final blink obtained from fusion of suspected blinks from eyes
The method involves detecting blinks of a driver from a temporal eye opening degree signal by an adaptive spatial threshold and marking the detected blinks as suspected blinks. A predetermined blink parameter is determined from the suspected blinks, and corresponding suspected blinks from the left and right eyes are fused to a final blink. The static characteristic values are calculated from parameters of the final blink, where the adaptive spatial threshold is calculated by a circular buffer with a predetermined length.
