摘要
Present invention provides a method to make phenotypic modification and agronomic trait alteration in plant by target-mimicry based diminution of miRNA 167. In this invention we employed a novel target-mimicry approach for the diminution of auxin signaling regulator miRNA 167 by developing mimic-transgenic lines in tobacco and in result significant phenotypic implications were recorded. Flowering time phenotype, floral organ formation and seed development were found to be largely dependent upon extent of miRI67 expression diminution and transcriptional biases of interrelated miRNAs. Moreover, transcriptional biases of flowering- associated miRNAs and their target genes in the apical and floral meristematic tissues was found important to regulate floral and seed development phenotype and widely affected by cellular level of miR167. We invented that the magnitude of miR 167 diminution play an important role in the determination of flowering phenotypes and, a threshold scale was determined used by plant to decide whether to preponed or. postponed flowering mechanism. This is a wholly novel outcome on the selection and evolution of such important miRNAs, highlighted in this invention opens new avenues for its future application.
