The present disclosure is related to procedures applied for extracting the components with bactericidal activity from stems, leaves and flowers from Jatropha dioica, Quercus ilex, Rosa gallica and Solanum nigrum. The selection principles of the concentration of the obtained extracts are defined to be applied as a treatment to reduce the oral bacterial load, thus preventing caries and periodontal diseases. The extracts composition can be applied inside chewing gum type foods, popsicles made with table sugar substitute, jelly and gummy candy, among other possible foods that ensure: 1) absence of cariogenic sugars; 2) the permanence of the treatment in the oral cavity for a time greater than 5 minutes to ensure enough contact time for the treatment of bacterial plaque to work; 3) presence of flavorings that provide the food with a pleasant flavor, avoiding the risk of stimulating the growth of bacteria; 4) Absence of permanence of extracts with high temperatures (greater than 70°C) to ensure stability. Likewise, they can be applied in other products used in the dental area such as rinsing, rinsing powder, topical gel, toothpaste, sublingual chip, inter alia. These products can be used as a complementary tool to conventional dental hygiene methods.
