A system (100) for detecting a condition of delivery in a parturient patient, the system comprising: a generation unit electromagnetic field (102, 202) operative to create an electromagnetic field around the parturient patient; a detection unit of the operative electromagnetic field (104) for detecting a disturbance in the electromagnetic field due to muscle contraction in the area around the parturient patient; and a processing unit (106) operative to process the disturbance in the electromagnetic field to detect the condition of delivery, wherein the system (100) comprises a controller (229) operative to adjust the intensity and penetration depth of the electromagnetic field created according to the weight of the parturient patient.
