Procedure to transform an existing single wall tank into an intrinsically safe double wall tank, which, after cleaning the existing wall (1) and application of reinforcement lining (2), contemplates the construction of the interstitial chamber (3) by placing a permeable mesh (4), nozzles for extracting the air, a first flexible and waterproof first bag (5), and creating a vacuum between said bag (5) and the existing wall (1); and, subsequently, the construction of the new wall (6), placing the fiber fabrics that will form it, nuclear materials or helical tubes or both, for resin distribution by infusion, a second flexible pot (7), creating vacuum between both bags 5,7) with the fiber fabrics and the distribution materials between them, and executing the resin infusion until the tissues of the new wall are totally wetted (6).
