VALIDATED HEALTHCARE CLEANING AND SANITIZING PRACTICES

A validated healthcare facility cleaning andsanitizing system provides a comprehensive and systematicapproach to cleaning and sanitizing practices at a hospitalor other healthcare facility. The validated hospitalcleaning system identifies hospital vectors of contamination;that is, sources through which hospital acquired infections(HAIs) may be spread. The validated system definesa plurality of modules within a healthcare facility,each having an associated cleaning process map designedto meet the particular cleaning and/or sanitizing needs andchallenges faced by that module. Various stages of thecleaning process map include validation points, at whichcertain parameters designed to ensure proper cleaning and/or sanitizing of the module are verified.
