A cell slide glass specimen production apparatus is provided with: a filter comprising a concavity that traps target cells, i.e., circulating cancer cells in the blood and/or rare cancer cells in bodily fluids, and holes that are formed in the concavity and allow non-target cells to pass therethrough; a slide glass that is laid over the target-cell-trapping surface of the filter so that the target cells are transferred thereto; a cover member that covers the surface of the filter on the side opposite the slide glass and seals in a physiological buffer solution for immersing the target cells within the concavity; and a container that stores a preservative solution into which the slide glass is immersed, preserving the target cells transferred onto the slide glass.
