A human face-based extreme speed limitation method, and a speed limitation system, the method comprising: recording extreme vehicle speeds matching human faces (S100); recognizing a driver's face when a user starts a vehicle (S101); and determining an extreme vehicle speed matching the human face, and setting the extreme vehicle speed (S102). By presetting a matching relationship between human faces and extreme vehicle speeds and adjusting extreme vehicle speeds according to different users, the method and system enable a vehicle to adjust vehicle speeds according to different drivers, thereby improving the driving security and implementing more intelligent vehicle security control.
