The present invention relates to a stereo image matching system having a CMOS image sensor integrated therein and a method thereof, which can perform parallel processing of a stereo image correction and a Census transformation, essential for a stereo image matching computation, at high energy efficiency in an analog domain. The stereo image matching system comprises an image sensor and a digital processor integrated into one chip so as to process image acquisition and stereo image matching in parallel, wherein the image sensor comprises a vertical position correction switch, installed between each pixel, for correcting vertical positions of pixels forming another stereo image with reference to one stereo image among stereo images obtained by photographing the same object at different locations, so as to match the positions of pixels of the two stereo images.
