A flow battery system and a large scale flow battery energy storage device. The flow battery system comprises multiple flow batteries; each flow battery comprises an A battery pack, a B battery pack, a C battery pack, and an electrolyte circulation system commonly used by the A battery pack, the B battery pack, and the C battery pack; the A battery pack, the B battery pack, and the C battery pack comprised in each flow battery are independent of each other in the circuit. The technical solution saves at least 2 sets of electrolyte circulation system under the same power scale, increases the stability of the system, and simultaneously reduces costs.
