The present invention relates to a method for preparing functional coffee containing an extract of peanut sprouts and functional coffee prepared by the method. The purpose of the present invention is to provide functional coffee, which takes full advantage of the features of functional materials useful to health without undermining the flavor and taste inherent to coffee and thus has not only palatability but also health functionality. To this end, a method for preparing functional coffee according to an aspect of the present invention is characterized by comprising: a step for roasting coffee beans; and a step for coating the coffee beans by spraying a solution of an extract of peanut sprouts to the coffee beans while rotating the roasted hot coffee beans.
