This cutting insert comprises a first face and a cutting edge. The first face has a first inclined face and a projection. The first inclined face has a first area that is located on a side of a first corner, a second area that is located on a side of a second corner, and a third area that is located between the first area and the second area. The projection has a first projection that is located on a side of the first corner, and a second projection that is located on a side of the second corner. A first apex of the first projection is located closer to the first corner than the first boundary between the first area and the third area, and a second apex of the second projection is located closer to the second corner than the boundary between the second area and the third area.
