TEMPLATE MATCHING-BASED ENCODING AND DECODING METHOD AND DEVICE

A template matching-based encoding and decoding method and device. The encoding method comprises: determining a prediction mode of a unit to be encoded; performing, according to the prediction mode, intra-frame prediction or inter-frame prediction on the unit to be encoded, and acquiring prediction residuals of the unit to be encoded; if the prediction mode is a template matching mode, then employing a target transform to transform the prediction residuals to obtain transform coefficients, a transform basis matrix of said target transform having coefficients of a first row in ascending order from left to right or having coefficients of a first column in ascending order from top to bottom; and performing quantization and entropy encoding on the transform coefficients to generate a code stream. By employing similar characteristics of the energy distribution of prediction residuals of the template matching to the characteristics of a transform basis matrix of the target transform, the present invention enables superior correlation elimination, thus improving a transform effect and encoding performance.
