The present invention provides a dual-camera smart robot. The dual-camera smart robot comprises: a communication module, used for communicating with a mobile terminal of a user, and receiving an instruction of the user; a first camera navigation module and a second camera navigation module, used for locating the current position of the smart robot by using images collected the cameras, and for locating the current position of the user by using current environment images, the first camera navigation module being used for collecting a front image, and the second camera navigation module being used for collecting a top image; a control module, used for selectively starting the first camera navigation module and the second camera navigation module, and generating a motor control signal; and a motor module, used for walking according to the motor control signal and a navigation route. By means of the dual-camera smart robot and a control method therefor provided in the present invention, automatic switching can be performed in a navigation mode of dual cameras, so as to adapt to different use scenarios.
