An oxide superconducting thin film material is provided with: a metallic substrate which has, on the surface thereof, a biaxially oriented crystal-oriented texture; an intermediate layer which is formed on the metallic substrate and is biaxially oriented; and an oxide superconducting thin film which is formed on the intermediate layer and is composed of an RE123-type oxide superconductor represented by REBa2Cu3Oy. The oxide superconducting thin film contains Br (bromine).
