This invention relates to boring systems. Previously, drilling contractors were forced unnecessarily to suspend operations and pull their well control equipment back to the surface for repairs because they could not articulate a compelling case to regulators based upon technical facts. Embodiments of the present invention use a computing device that simulates risk and loss mitigation in well control equipment for ultra-deepwater drilling. This is displayed in a user interface system that has a connection of components in the well control equipment displayed across a plurality of user interface modules. The UI runs a simulation by the computing device evaluating the failure mode for a user selected component. The UI provides a risk assessment of the evaluated failure mode for the user selected component and for the other components connected to the user selected component.
