The present invention is characterized in that: a dorsal floating body (10) disposed on the dorsal side of a human body when in use as a floating body and a ventral floating body (12) disposed on the ventral side of the human body when in use as a floating body are coupled at the shoulders by means of shoulder coupling parts (14); normally, the dorsal floating body (10) is stowed in a backpack (6) and the ventral floating body (12) is arranged on the outside of the backpack (6) opposite the side against the human body; and when the life-preserving body is to be used as a floating body, the ventral floating body (12) is rotated, around pivot points formed by the shoulder coupling parts (14), toward the ventral side of the human body so that the ventral floating body (12) is disposed on the ventral side of the human body.
