The present invention is to provide a power supply of an electric vehicle having a device for switching a charging and discharging mode of a secondary battery which allows the switching of a power supply supplied to the load to be instantaneously and continuously performed by simultaneously performing the turn-off at one side thereof and the turn-on at the other side thereof, allows power to be maximally and efficiently supplied by maximally using a condition between each power supply, and boosts voltage to be charged to supply the same to the load. The power supply of an electric vehicle of the present invention comprises: a power generating unit connected to one axle of an electric vehicle to generate power at a low voltage so as to charge a low voltage battery; a booster for boosting the low voltage of the power generating unit to a high voltage; and a load driving unit for storing the high voltage boosted by the booster, and driving the other axle of the electric vehicle. The power generating unit includes: a low voltage charging and discharging battery for storing electricity obtained by a generator; and a first charging and discharging mode switching device for controlling any one side of the low voltage charging and discharging battery to be charged by a charging mode, and controlling electricity charged at the other side thereof to be transmitted to the booster by a discharging mode. The load driving unit includes: a high voltage charging and discharging battery stored at the high voltage boosted by the booster, or driving a motor with a stored voltage; and a second charging and discharging mode switching device for controlling the electricity boosted by the booster to charge any one side of the high voltage charging and discharging battery by the charging mode, and controlling a motor to be driven by the electricity charged at the other side thereof by the discharging mode.
