23- Novel gene promoting biosynthesis of hederagenin and 23-hydroxyursolic acid and uses thereof

Provided are a gene capable of promoting biosynthesis of 23-hydroxyursolic acid and hederagenin derived from Centella asiatica (L.) Urb., and a use thereof. When the gene encoding synthase of 23-hydroxyursolic acid and hederagenin derived from Centella asiatica (L.) Urb. is introduced in plants, production of plants including 23-hydroxyursolic acid and hederagenin is possible, while enabling mass-production of 23-hydroxyursolic acid and hederagenin by introducing the gene into microorganism.
