The present invention relates to a rail-type elevating lighting tower with an elevating safety device. The rail-type elevating lighting tower with an elevating safety device can prevent an accident by immediately stopping a driving motor of an elevating unit when an operator recognizes a malfunction of an upper limit switch for detecting an elevating position of the lighting tower when an elevating carrier moves upward, and can also prevent an accident caused by stopping before the elevating carrier is in a descending position by allowing an unskilled person to easily recognize whether the elevating carrier is completely in a descending position when the elevating carrier moves downward. The rail-type elevating lighting tower with an elevating safety device of the present invention comprises: a first lamp connected with a controller to be switched on when the elevating carrier moves upward, to be switched off when the upper limit switch is normally operated in an ascending limiting position of the elevating carrier, and to maintain a lighting state when the upper limit switch is not normally operated; a second lamp connected with the controller to be switched on when the elevating carrier descends and to be switched off when a lower limit switch is operated in a descending limit position of the lifting carrier; and a third lamp connected with the controller to be controlled by the controller to be switched on when the lower limit switch is operated in the descending limit position of the elevating carrier.
