The present invention relates to an apparatus for forming a spiral tube and a manufacturing method of a spiral tube which perform spiral forming or efficiently transport a fluid such as a refrigerant or liquid when exchanging heat to allow pipes used for fluid transport in various heat exchangers to maximize a heat exchange effect to improve performance of heat exchangers. The apparatus for forming a spiral tube comprises: a supply member to supply a work material; a rotation drive member to hold and rotate the work material; a mandrel member inserted into an inner circumference of the work material supplied by the supply member to move the work material to the rotation drive member; a spiral forming member to form a spiral on an outer circumferential surface of the work material while the mandrel is inserted into the work material; a ball screw member to move the spiral forming member; a sensing member to sense a moving state of the spiral forming member; a material separation member to separate the work material formed by the spiral forming member from the rotation drive member; and a control means to control an operating state of the spiral forming member in accordance with a sensing signal sensed by the sensing member.
