摘要

The fluid flow patterns and the pressure drop and heat transfer characteristicsof spirally-enhanced tubes in confined crossflow were investigated. The measured pressure drop data were used to develop a correlation between friction factor and nondimensional geometric and flow parameters. The measured heat transfer data were used to develop a correlation between Nusselt number and nondimensional geometric and flow parameters. An explanation of the dependence of friction factor and Nusselt number on the respective variables is based on the observed flow patterns and proposed flow structures.
