The present invention relates to an antiviral composition against hepatitis C virus, containing micrococcin P1 or an analogue thereof, and more specifically, to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating hepatitis C virus infections, containing the antiviral composition; and a functional health food composition for preventing or alleviating hepatitis C virus infections. The micrococcin P1 contained as the effective component of the antiviral composition of the present invention is a natural substance inexpensive and easy to produce, providing an alternative inexpensive treatment option for chronic hepatitis C infection. Further, the micrococcin P1 effectively inhibits HCV entry across all major genotypes, inhibits cell-to-cell transmission without influencing the secretion of infectious HCV particles, shows a synergistic effect with HCV inhibitors, and may be potentially used as a cost-efficient component in the HCV combination therapy. Furthermore, during the combination therapy, due to the synergistic effect of drug, the concentration of drugs may be significantly reduced, thereby avoiding potential side effects.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2018
