METHOD FOR PRODUCING STERILE RAINBOW TROUT HAVING FEMALE CHARACTERISTICS THROUGH CHROMOSOMAL TRANSLOCATION INDUCTION

The present invention relates to a method for producing a sterile rainbow trout having female characteristics through chromosomal translocation induction. The method comprises: a first step of producing a pseudo-male rainbow trout that is sex-changed from female to male and thus has female characteristics only; and a second step of treating a fertilized egg of the pseudo-male rainbow trout, after fertilization, by pressure or heat for producing sterile entities, to induce chromosomal translocation. Accordingly, a stable production of a pseudo-male rainbow trout, which needs to be preceded for mass production of a rainbow trout having female characteristics, can be made possible through a far lower hormone treatment level at a concentration of 0.5 ppm compared with the conventional hormone treatment level of 3-5 ppm. Thus, the present invention can reduce the cost associated with the hormone treatment, and can prevent abnormal gonad development that may occur when the conventional hormone treatment level is applied.
