The present invention relates to a method for producing katanin proteins in bulk, by inducing expression in Escherichia coli so as to keep a three-dimensional structure of human katanin protein stable and intact. To this end, a gene on a portion three-dimensionally bindable in a p60 protein and a p80 protein which make up the human katanin protein is found, enabling mass-production of water-soluble and three-dimensional katanin proteins using the same. The water-soluble and three-dimensional katanin protein obtained thereby is anticipated to play a crucial role in regulating microtubules.
