The present invention relates to salted chayote and a method for manufacturing the same. The salted chayote produced according to the present invention allows consumers to ingest rich nutrients contained in chayote such as dietary fibers, folic acid, magnesium, and potassium, and has excellent storage properties so as to be highly utilizable as storage food. The method for manufacturing the salted chayote comprises a step of removing foreign matter from chayote by washing with water, a step of naturally drying the washed chayote, a step of soaking the dried chayote in salt water, a step of natural dehydrating the salted chayote to remove moisture, and a step of mixing the dehydrated chayote with sauce for storing and fermenting.
