The present invention relates to an electrochemical microfluidic channel and a method for separating and detecting circulating tumor cells from blood of a cancer patient using the same. More specifically, the present invention provides a new analysis method for rapidly and conveniently separating circulating tumor cells with high efficiency and detecting the same with high sensitivity by utilizing AC potential modulation technology based on an electrochemical microfluidic channel. In addition, a system for separating and detecting circulating tumor cells based on the present invention has advantages of a smaller size and low manufacturing costs to enable widespread supply, thereby contributing to early diagnosis of prognosis for cancer and maximization of treatment effects. Furthermore, information on biological properties of circulating tumor cells regarding cancer metastasis is monitored, thereby providing useful information for developing a new cancer therapy and controlling cancer. The electrochemical microfluidic channel comprises: a pre-treatment unit reacting a sample containing tumor cells from a patient with daunomycin; a reaction unit reacting the sample containing the daunomycin-covered tumor cells passed through the pre-treatment unit with lipid molecules; and a detection unit electrochemically sorting the tumor cells which have reacted with the lipid molecules.
