The present invention relates to a system and a method for calculating a powder transport rate in a pipe which can calculate a transport rate of a powder transported from a storage tank to a surge tank through a pipe by deriving a pressure loss coefficient through an experiment and selecting a reference model of a real drill ship, comprising an input unit for receiving test driving performance data of a drill rig and outputting the data to transportation rate calculating means; a plurality of pressure sensors respectively installed on the transfer lines for measuring the pressure values of the transfer lines and outputting them to the transfer rate calculating means; transport rate calculating means for deriving a pressure loss coefficient, deriving an initial transport rate value by using the test operation execution data of the drillship input via the input unit, and calculating a powder transport rate based on the pressure loss coefficient and the initial transport rate value; and an output unit outputting for a worker the powder transport rate calculated by the transport rate calculating means. Therefore, an engineer can calculate the transport rate with ease and the cost to be paid to foreign vendors can be reduced.
