The present invention relates to a method for identifying an unexpected obstacle, and a robot implementing the same. The method for identifying an unexpected obstacle of one embodiment of the present invention comprises the following steps of: allowing a sensing module of a robot to sense a dead zone disposed on a driving route of the robot; allowing a control unit of the robot to calculate a probability that a moving object appears from the dead zone; and allowing the control unit to control a speed or a direction of a movement unit of the robot in accordance with the calculated probability.
