METHODS FOR THE SYNTHESIS OF NANO PLATES AND METAL COATED SILICON NANO PLATES, AND USES THEREOF IN TRANSPARENT FILM

A preferred method for the synthesis of larger scale silver nanoplates is described in conjunction with a method of applying a noble metal coating on a silver nanoplate to form a coated silver nanoplate having a desired absorption spectrum. Silver nanoplates are suitable for use in coatings for hue-changing of transparent films. Tint adjustments may be particularly desirable for transparent conductive films.
