The present invention provides an apparatus for expanding a reinforcing fiber using compressed air and a spreading bar, and a prepreg manufacturing apparatus using the same. It is possible to expand quantitatively various kinds of fibers compared to a prior art and to expand fibers to a width requiring a tow by defining an expansion variable. To this end, according to an embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus comprises: a first tension adjusting unit which is provided in the moving direction of a fiber, has a rotary shaft perpendicular to the moving direction, and applies tension to the fiber to be spread; a pressure air device which provides compressed air to the fiber passing through the first tension adjusting unit; a dust collecting device which is provided on the lower end of the fiber and the pressure air device, and collecting scattering fiber powder; a second tension adjusting unit which applies tension to the fiber passing through the pressure air device to be spread; and a nip roll which fixes the fiber while maintaining the expansion degree of the fiber passing through the second tension adjusting unit. In addition, a prepreg manufacturing apparatus using the apparatus for expanding a reinforcing fiber using compressed air and a spreading bar can be provided.
