According to one embodiment of the present invention, an automatic indoor water leak detecting method using a statistical outlier detecting method comprises the steps of: (a) obtaining indoor water usage data measured by a remote meter reading water meter every predetermined time; (b) determining whether an indoor water usage pattern is abnormal based on the water usage data measured every predetermined time; (c) determining a day when the water usage pattern is abnormal as a day that a water leakage is suspected and obtaining a daily usage amount of the day when the water leakage is suspected and a daily usage amount for previous predetermined days if the water usage pattern is abnormal; (d) calculating an average and standard deviation of the obtained daily usage amount; (e) calculating a statistical value (G) with respect to the water usage amount (A) of the day when the water leakage is suspected; (f) obtaining a critical value (CV) corresponding to a significance level of the upper 5% according to the number of pieces of data in a critical value table; and (g) determining if the statistical value (G) is greater than the critical value (CV).
