The present invention discloses a composition for suppressing immune responses using extracts of Ecklonia cava and Sargassum horneri, wherein the composition does not show cytotoxicity against mouse spleen cells stimulated by concanavalin A or ovalbumin, and has the activity of inhibiting the generation of cytokine such as IL-1β, INF-γ, TNF-α, IL-5, IL-6, IL-13 and the like, which inhibit the proliferation and are involved in a hyperimmunization reaction or an inflammatory reaction caused by the reaction and the like.
