When installing a caisson, which is a harbor facility, an improvement of the soft ground has to be carried out and then the caisson has to be installed in general. When using a suction caisson, an improvement of the soft ground and an installation of a breakwater and a harbor facility for a quay wall can be carried out at the same time. When draining the water inside the suction body using a pump system after constructing a drain layer in the horizontal direction and a vertical drain, and inserting the suction caisson into the ground, a vacuum consolidation method using vacuum pressure and a load loading method can be used at the same time. Therefore, the pore water in the soft ground can be dehydrated rapidly. Moreover, upper structures coupled to the suction body are constructed at the same time. Therefore, the construction speed is increased, and the construction can be safe and economical compared to the existing method.
