A disclosed method for producing a pet animal feed using larva of an insect grown by feeding a medicinal extract bark comprises the following steps: a first step for preparing the medicinal extract bark by pulverizing the medicinal extract bark prepared as remnants remaining by extracting a liquid phase from a set medicinal herb, with the particle size of 5 mm or less; a second step of adding a wet feed prepared as an organic material to the medicinal extract bark pulverized by the first step; a third step of feeding the pulverized medicinal extract bark and the organic matters mixed with other by the second step to the larva of the insect; a fourth step of collecting the larva of the insect which has been grown by the third step; and a fifth step of preparing the pet animal feed by sequentially performing a washing process, a dehydrating process, a drying process, a defatting process, a pulverizing process and a sterilizing process of the insect larva collected in the fourth step. According to the present invention, there is an advantage in that the productive treatment of the medicinal extract bark treated with conventional wastes and discarded is possible.
