FIELD: metallurgy.;SUBSTANCE: composite material based on aluminium alloy, reinforced with boron carbide B4C, contains copper at the following ratio of components, copper 4-6 wt %, boron carbide 1-8 wt %, aluminium - the rest. Method of production of composite material includes melting aluminium and copper of technical purity in graphite-fireclay crucible in electric resistance furnace, introducing B4C particles of 1 -20 mcm size into the melt at temperature of 850-950°C by mechanical kneading at rotation speed of 450 rpm with the help of four-blade titanium blade and pouring melt into matrix followed by crystallization under pressure of 50-200 mpa.;EFFECT: preparation of a composite material based on an aluminium alloy reinforced with boron carbide with a low coefficient of thermal expansion.;2 cl, 3 ex, 10 dwg
