FIELD: technological processes.;SUBSTANCE: method can be used in the manufacture of heat-resistant parts of power and chemical plants. Between the bimetallic plates consisting of a layer of alloy steel and a layer of low-carbon steel, an aluminum plate of 1–1.5 mm thick is placed with a gap. Thickness of the plates and the welding gaps between the plates in the bag are selected from the condition for obtaining a given collision velocity of the layers to be joined. Heat treatment of the welded five-layer billet is carried out. After cooling with the furnace to a given temperature, subsequent cooling in air is carried out, that leads to the spontaneous separation of aluminum from the steel layers along intermetallic diffusion layers. On the surface of the layer of low-carbon steel of each of the two bimetallic plates, a continuous heat-resistant coating of the aluminum-iron system is formed.;EFFECT: method provides coatings simultaneously on two bimetallic plates in a single explosion welding operation.;1 cl, 1 tbl, 3 ex
