FIELD: electrical engineering.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering and can be used in adjustable AC electric drives. Four-quadrant low-voltage AC drive provides control of an asynchronous short-circuited electric motor in any of the quadrants of mechanical characteristics in the motor and braking modes with the help of a voltage regulator installed in the stator windings. Regulator, based on two booster transformers, performs non-contact pulse-width control and changing the order of rotation of the phases of the stator voltage during deceleration and reverse by means of two transistor switches, performing the functions of zero points in the connection of primary windings of transformers according to the star scheme. Method of controlling the electric drive is presented in the form of an algorithm for changing two control signals at the inputs of pulse-width modulators in the transition of an electric drive from one quadrant of mechanical characteristics to another.;EFFECT: technical result is the expansion of functionality due to giving this device the properties of a reversible four-quadrant electric drive, the regulation of which is possible in both the motor and braking modes when the motor rotates in both directions.;2 cl, 3 dwg
