FIELD: manufacturing technology.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of synthetic diamonds including an isotope ¹⁴C, possessing β-radiation. Diamonds are iron carbide grown formed directly in the growth chamber from barium carbonate, which is a product of processing spent nuclear fuel and containing in its composition 50–70 % of the isotope ¹⁴C of the total mass of carbon, and not less than 5-fold relative to the total mass of barium carbonate of excess iron.;EFFECT: simplified technology for obtaining radioactive diamonds possessing β-radiation, and also the safety of the synthesis process is increased with the possible use of large amounts of the isotope ¹⁴C.;2 cl, 3 ex
