Summary of the Invention is in that performingthe underground pipeline section corrosion condition evaluation, performing the following stages: conducting the in-pipe diagnostics by means of the in-line inspection instrument and the measured data recording; processing the in-line diagnostic data, determining the amount of corrosion defects, the metal wall damage depth, the defects corrosion rate and the main pipeline linear part section altitude position at the defect location; determining the main pipeline linear part section for performance of the corrosion state evaluation by the growing defects ranking in terms of the corrosion rate; analyzing the corrosion test data, including the soils corrosiveness data, cathodic polarization level, anticorrosion coating and stray currents condition, taking into account additional corrosion testing in areas with the high corrosion rate; identifying the most dangerous corrosive factors in areas with the corrosion defects growth; plotting the combined analysis graphs with reference to the pipeline route characteristic points linear coordinates and identified corrosion defects; determining the corrosion defects occurrence and growth causes; taking measures to eliminate the corrosion occurrence and growth causes on the main pipeline linear part.;EFFECT: improvement in the underground pipeline section corrosive state evaluation quality.;1 cl, 8 dwg
