An electric vehicle (10), comprising - a rear axle (11) with two rear wheels (14); - a Rangeextender (12), comprising • an internal combustion engine (16); • a generator (17) coupled to the engine (16); A support frame (19) carrying the combustion engine (16) and the generator (17); characterized in that - the rear axle (11) has an axle support (15) on which the rear wheels (14) are mounted; - The support frame (19) has an open support structure; - The support frame (19) on the axle (15) is mounted; and wherein - the rear axle (11) is formed as a semi-rigid axle and has a cross member (15) and the axle carrier (15) forms the cross member (15); or - the rear axle (11) is designed as an independent suspension and has a subframe (15) and the axle carrier (15) forms the subframe (15).
