In various embodiments, a method is provided for the production of an optoelectronic component (10), wherein: a first electrode (20) and at least one contact portion (16, 18) via a support (12) are formed; an optically functional layer structure (22) via the first electrode (20) is formed; a second electrode (23) by means of the optically functional layer structure (22) is formed, wherein the first electrode (20) or the second electrode (23) with the contact portion (16, 18) is electrically connected; a protective layer (40) on at least a part of the area of the contact section (16, 18) is applied, wherein the protective layer (40) is formed from a material, which are to be rendered repellent for a substance for producing a encapsulation layer (24); and the encapsulation layer (24) by means of the second electrode (23) and via the contact portion (16, 18) is formed, the partial region on account of the protective layer (40) free of the encapsulation layer (24) remains.
